Residential electrical services in Spokane.

I do service, remodels, panels, new construction. If it’s residential, it’s on the list.

01

Service calls & troubleshooting

Something in the house quit, or it’s acting up. Sonshyne Electric finds the cause instead of guessing, explains it in plain words, and fixes it properly.

02

Panels & service upgrades

The panel is the heart of the house. Whether it’s an old fuse box, a full panel with no room left, or a brand people have stopped trusting, the fix is a clean, labeled, inspected panel sized for how you live now.

  • Fuse box replacement
  • Breaker panel repair and replacement
  • Service upgrades for added loads
  • Subpanels for garages, shops and additions
  • Panel directories labeled so you can read them

03

Remodels

Remodels are where old wiring meets new code. Kitchens and baths need dedicated circuits and the right protection, and finished basements need lighting and outlets laid out for the way the room will be used.

  • Kitchen circuits, under-cabinet and island power
  • Bathroom circuits, fans and lighting
  • Basement finishes
  • Moving and adding outlets and switches
  • GFCI and AFCI protection where code requires it

04

New construction

From the first walk-through of the framing to the final inspection, new construction is planned room by room: where the switches fall, where the lights land, and how the service is sized for the house.

  • New homes and additions
  • Rough-in and finish wiring
  • Service and panel sizing
  • Lighting and device layout with the owner
  • Coordination with the permit and inspection

05

Lighting, fans & devices

Good light changes a room. Fixtures, recessed cans, fans and dimmers are installed on boxes rated for them, with the right switch in the right place.

  • Ceiling fan installation
  • Light fixture installation
  • Recessed and LED lighting
  • Dimmers and smart switches
  • Outdoor and porch lighting

Wiring & rewiring

Spokane has a lot of houses wired before anyone owned a microwave. New circuits take load off the old ones, and replacing knob-and-tube or brittle cloth-covered wiring makes an old house safe to live in and easier to insure.

  • New and dedicated circuits
  • Knob-and-tube and old-wiring replacement
  • Grounded outlets in place of two-prong
  • Circuits for appliances and equipment
  • Wiring repair

Home power upgrades

The house is being asked to do more: charge a car, run a heat pump through a January cold snap, keep the furnace going in an outage. These jobs start with a load check, so the new equipment fits the service you have or the upgrade is planned in.

  • EV charger circuits
  • Generator inlets and interlocks
  • Hot tub and spa circuits
  • Heat pump and mini-split circuits
  • Whole-home surge protection
  • Smoke and CO alarm wiring

Permits

Permitted, inspected, signed off.

Most electrical work beyond a like-for-like swap needs a permit. Inside Spokane city limits, the City of Spokane issues and inspects it; in Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Cheney, Airway Heights, Mead and the rest of the county, Washington L&I does. Sonshyne Electric pulls the permit for the work it does.

Safety first

If something’s wrong right now.

Burning smell, sparks, a hot panel or half the house dark? Turn off the breaker or the main if it’s safe, then call. For fire or smoke, get out and call 911. For a downed line, stay clear and call your utility.
